What does a typical day at Little Explorers look like?

Typically, children will start to arrive shortly after 7:30 am at which point a full range of healthy breakfast options are available.

Day to day activities are set up following the children’s interests, often In the Moment’. This may mean anything from an impromptu ‘Thomas the Tank Engine’ day to a day all about ‘Planets’. Whichever way the day leads us, it’s always lots of fun!! We take lots of exciting trips out as well, particularly enjoying local nature reserves such as ‘Denham Country Park’ and ‘Black Park’. One-to-one activities are organized alongside group activities focusing on individual SMART targets.

As the morning draws to a close a series of ‘Adult led’ activities take place including “Music & rhyme time’, ‘Attention Hillingdon’ and ‘Phonics Time’.

Lunch is eaten together, during which time table manners are reinforced. Children help to prepare and serve meals, supporting ‘British Values’, by learning about responsibilities.

After lunch, children enjoy quiet time, sleeping as required, or relaxing with books.

Afternoon play is generally child-led and time is spent in the garden at this point (weather permitting).
